Pensacola Beach and Perdido Key offer miles of unspoiled sugar-white sand overlooking the shimmering crystal waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Watersports abound off both islands- windsurfing, jet skiing, water skiing. You can rent just about anything imaginable from bicycles to rods and reels.
The National Museum of Naval Aviation is home to dozens of displays that trace the history of flight from wooden planes to the skylab module. The adjoining IMAX Theatre shows big-screen aviation films that make you feel like you're in the cockpit.
Pensacola is also home base of the Navy's Blue Angels. The Blue Angels Air Show every July at beautiful Pensacola Beach and the Homecoming Show in November at the Naval Air Station are a must see.
The Pensacola area has some of the finest billfishing in the United States, almost guaranteeing you will net your limit of grouper, red snapper and triggerfish. Fishing bridges offer excellent low-cost angling, and bring in plenty of dinner. Charter boats take you wherever the fish are biting, whether you want deep-sea tuna or closer-to-shore sport fish.
